Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara review

marc jacobs velvet noir

I am a mascara junkie. I hold on to them way past their dry out point because I feel like in the short time I have owned them, we have created an everlasting bond.

But for serious, I am a frequent offender of the keeping your makeup past the expiration date. Don’t be like me folks.

Because I am a junky I was thrilled to receive the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara from Influenster (click here to start working with Influenster today!) to test out!

Here is a break down of my review:

PACKAGING

marc jacobs velvet noir

I will be the first to admit, I purchase products because of packaging about 90 percent of the time! This packaging for the Marc Jacobs mascara was so fancy! The beveled edge and sleek design made me feel like a professional as it sat on my makeup table begging to be used!

WAND

This wand was one of the more interesting wands I have ever used. To begin with, the wand is very thin and the bristles are very small. Plus at the end it has a small ball of bristles, much like the cult favorite from It Cosmetics. I found that the thinness of the wand actually comes in handy in making sure you have covered all of your lashes.

However, I have not found a good purpose for the ball endy-thing. I tried using it to catch the hard-to-reach inner corner lashes, and all it did was make a huge mess.

FORMULA

The formula is more on the wet and sticky side. I am more of a fan of a dry formula (my all time favorite is the Tarte Gifted mascara), but I didn’t hate this. It can be messy, so don’t rush through application.

WEAR

The Marc Jacobs mascara lasted all day! Here is a photo of it about 4 hours in!
