SPRING CLEANING BATHROOM

Today’s cleaning tips are on the grossest place in your home… the bathroom.

Spring Cleaning is about the extra things you can to do to get your home really clean for spring. Therefore, this post talks about the things you should do about every six month. Regular room cleaning is still important, even if I don’t mention it in these posts!

SPRING CLEANING BATHROOM

TOILET

You should be cleaning your toilet seat and bowl regularly, but the pedestal of the toilet is often ignored when you are doing everyday cleaning. I grew up in a family of boys, so we had to clean it often. The best way to go about this is spraying it with a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water (to dilute the smell).

I also am I huge fan of the Comet spray cleaner, so I would also recommend that if its a big mess.

BASEBOARDS AND SWITCH BOARDS

Base boards and switch boards are on every part of the house, and they are often overlooked. Be sure when you are spring cleaning to get them all, including in the bathroom.

I like to start by getting a vacuum to get most of the dust (and in my case, dog hair) off the baseboards. I think the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser does wonder when cleaning baseboards and switch boards, so I highly recommend those.

FAUCETS

For all stainless steel hardware, I recommend getting a little bit of coconut oil and putting it on a paper town. Then, buff the coconut oil onto the hardware.

Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle the fruit section with baking soda. Use this to scrub on the faucets and etc. Buff with a clean paper town until shiny!

ORGANIZE

This is the time to throw away any expired and old products! If you don’t use it, you need to throw it away. I organize my bathroom by product type to make my life easier!

  • I actually just did this on Friday! I am a clean freak so when the seasons start to feel like they are changing I take advantage of it and deep clean my bathroom! I got rid of old products I did not have a need for and I also organized under my sink… it was scary down there! <3
