The holidays are upon us, and as I pack my bag to head to my family home, I am excited to say I am packing a little less than normal thanks to Neutrogena® makeup products and skincare products.
As much as I love bold winter looks for parties and whatever else the night may bring, I enjoy a more natural, low maintenance look for when I am spending time with family. I think it is a great chance to let my skin breathe.
I start by doing my eyebrows. This involves a little plucking, some pomade and some powder. No matter the look, I always have to do my full eyebrow routine because I have very thin brows.
If you have thicker brows, try just using a eye brow gel.
If you have scarring or acne, apply a concealer the same color as your skin on the spots. I am using a concealer on my dark circles. I then pat some powder on the spots.
I normally apply concealer after foundation, but since I am using a BB cream for low maintenance, I feel like the concealer looks better under the cream. After applying the BB cream, I use a foundation powder to lightly set the BB cream.
My winter skin is my palest skin, so I will also apply a little bit of bronzer on my forehead, cheeks and chin. I try to avoid my nose and under my eyes to keep those areas brighter without contouring.
I also add a dash of a bronzy blush to my cheeks.
I also apply a little eyeliner to my upper lash line without a cat flick. I try to do a very thin line just to make my eyes pop. I also smudge a little black eyeshadow on my bottom lash line.
I add a little bit of a natural-looking mascara to keep it light.
Now this part makes the look and keeps it low maintenance all day long. I use Neutrogena® MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Soft Raspberry. This is a very light-feeling lip color, and you can bolden the color by adding more layers.
I love this feature because if I wear this during the day, I can just add some more layers and I have a bold lip for going out at night!
I love these so much because they are so moisturizing, with fruit extracts along with mango and shea butter. They smell great, and they come in a great assortment of colors. Plus, you can find them at Walmart in the makeup section!
This look keeps my holiday travel makeup bag light and leaves room in my suitcase for for big sweaters and jackets.
Plus, I throw is some Neutrogena® Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to take the day off every night. This eliminates the need to bring heavy makeup removing creams and micellar water, so they are perfect for traveling. You can buy a big bag, a travel bag and a regular size bag of towelettes all at Walmart. You can find them in the skincare section!
I love these wipes because even if I do a more heavy makeup look, they wipe everything right off without pulling and hurting my skin.
What is your go to makeup look during the holiday season?
