Meet the new puppy, Fiona

I have some exciting news to share! My little family has grown by four paws!

I made the decision in September to get another dog after my friend’s mini Australian Shepherd had a litter of puppies.

Because I already have Schmidt, getting another dog has always worried me. BUT – Schmidt loves to play, and he is by himself while I work, so I knew he needed a friend.

However, he is a very jealous dog, therefore I decided he need a female puppy to ensure the easiest transition.

And good news, they love each other! The minute the new puppy, Fiona, saw Schmidt, she ran to him to play. He will lay on the ground for hours while she chews on him.

He even shares his toys with her – as long as they are playing with them together.

Not to mention they chase each other around the house in spurts.

I named Fiona after one of the main characters from Shameless. Schmidt was named after a character in New Girl. It’s a trend.

The growing pains of having a new puppy are so real – potty training, crate training and learning tricks have been a struggle.

However, thanks to Schmidt, her hyper levels are controlled! She loves her big brother!
