How to make a farmhouse Christmas wreath

If you are a huge fan of Fixer Upper and have some old wreaths hanging around the house, this is the perfect Christmas tutorial for you.

You can easily turn any old wreath into a trendy piece of farmhouse magic with a trip to Michaels and some good glue!

This wreath I made cost about $20 total, while most pre-made wreaths will run you about $150.

I started with this old wreath that my mom gave me. This wreath has been in my family for years, and has been decorated over a dozen times.

I went ahead an removed some old fake cranberries and twigs, but I left the old pinecones for a base for my wreath.

When I went to Michaels, I started by looking in the greenery aisle. I bought some eucalyptus-like leaves and some other greenery that seemed Christmas-y.

And I also went to the Dollar General and got some affordable plastic Christmas balls to fill my wreath.

How to make a farmhouse Christmas wreath

First, I started by removing all of the eucalyptus leaves off of the twigs and hot glueing them randomly around the wreath. You have to add enough leaves without over-whelming the fake fir.

Simply grab a leaf, add the glue, and stick it in the wreath.

After I added the leaves, I filled in with more greenery. I hate the look of fake fir, so I really wanted to create a new balance of fir, leaves and twigs.

Then I added the Christmas balls. I tried to create a shiny and glitter pattern, but just make sure they are evenly spaced out.

Once you are done adding those, allow the wreath to dry for 24 hours.

After the wreath has dried, add it to your door and show off your inexpensive homemade wreath!

I was extremely proud of how my farmhouse Christmas wreath turned out, and I can’t wait to hang it up in my home!

Plus, it only took about 15 minutes to create!
