Every since my sister moved in with me, I have been trying to cook more experimental things. After a little of brainstorming, we decided to throw a Spanish tapas nights.

Spanish Tapas are a ton of little, shareable meals. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with a million recipes, so I focused on my favorite dishes from when I lived in Spain.

One of the more complicated recipes was for Paella. Paella is a traditional Spanish dish with rice, saffron and seafood. It can see overwhelming, but it is a great one pot meal to make at home! This is great for the main tapas, and Paella was made for sharing!

Then we had to decide on our smaller tapas. If you know anything about Spain, ham is the ultimate tapas. We ended up getting some sliced chorizo and prosciutto. We paired it with some Valencia oranges, cherries, Manchego cheese, brie and pickles (because we are a huge fan of olives).

When I was in Spain, the thing I noticed the most was that bread was served with every meal. I was really astonished on how thin everyone was because of all the bread!

I wanted to mix some of my southern roots with my Spanish flare, and I ended up making a simple bacon, onion marmalade.

It is as simple as cooking onions and bacon on a skillet. Once the onion are translucent, add some apple cider vinegar and brown sugar.

I placed the marmalade on a slice of toasted french bread with brie.

Last but not least, I made patatas bravas. This recipe is so simple, so be sure to click here to get more information.

We also paired our meal with some Spanish Tempranillo with an orange slice.

The meal was so easy to make – and it was extremely photogenic.
